Session Overview
The Office of Curriculum Innovation & Teaching Excellence (CITE) continues to host drop-in sessions for instructors and staff who have questions about our learning tools. Select the ‘Join Live Session‘ link above to attend any session listed for the term. Ask an expert at Schulich your questions related to teaching and learning technologies, including questions that may arise from attending the ‘Teaching at Schulich’ training sessions (linked below). There are no pre-requisites to joining these drop-in sessions. Discussions can include anything related to the following platforms or topics:
- Canvas
- Zoom
- Echo360
- Qualtrics
- Textbook Publisher Integrations
- Quizzes
- Grading and Feedback
I attended most of the training sessions on Canvas and Zoom over the summer. While found them very useful, the quantity of information was sometimes hard to digest in the abstract because I had not yet restructured my course for online delivery. I attended two drop-in sessions and found them incredibly useful for quick, efficient solutions to emergent questions that were specific to my course design and pedagogy. It was also useful to share ideas with the couple of other faculty at each session who were also at the same stage in the course design and delivery process.

I wanted to share the value that I have derived from Schulich’s Teaching and Learning weekly “Drop-In Sessions”. In addition to recently having important issues addressed and resolved, I appreciate having the sense of reassurance that a valuable resource will be available at a couple of designated times throughout the week. The Zoom/Canvas Drop-in Sessions have proven to be an absolute essential resource to me, both in terms of setup assistance for online lecture delivery, but also from student feedback regarding ease of access to course material and assignments. The quality of support provided by the Team has been amazing. The Team has an amazing understanding of every aspect of the Zoom/Canvas/Echo360 platforms and their willingness and enthusiasm to help resolve issues is much appreciated.
