There are a number of good reasons to use the Canvas gradebook. Students are eager to have instructors load all component grades in Canvas. Instructors gain access to the grade management tools in Canvas including the ability to:
- securely share individual scores with students
- message students based on score
- submit grades to student services
Many instructors currently use their own spreadsheet to manage grades. If you instead export the gradebook from Canvas once your enrollments have settled, hide any columns you don’t need, and then use that spreadsheet to track grades – you’ll be able to easily move grades into and out of Canvas.
