By Associate Dean Academic, Marcia A Annisette.
The School is proud to announce the winner of the John Peace Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award for 2020-2021. Each year every area is invited to nominate one outstanding part-time faculty member for this award, which is given by the Dean in consultation with Management Committee.
The John Peace Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award was established in honour of John Peace, a part-time instructor at the Schulich School of Business between 1986 and 1996. John had a small law practice in downtown Toronto, focusing on real estate law. He also taught business law and real estate courses at Schulich.
While each area can only nominate one colleague, the John Peace Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award has always been about recognizing the important contributions all our part-time faculty make to the success of this School. For this year’s award, we received outstanding submissions. Congratulations to nominees Wissam Al-Hussaini, Patricia Bradley, Stuart Browne, Alex Fisher, Ashley Konson, Joe Mapa, Mikael Meir and Mark Thomas.
Congratulations to Adjunct Professor of Marketing Ashley Konson for winning this year’s John Peace award!
Ashley has been teaching for the Marketing Area since 2003 and has taught 53 courses. In response to his strong teaching scores, Ashley has been consistently nominated for the annual Teaching Excellence Award. Over and above Ashley’s passion for his Marketing courses, he has actively contributed to the Schulich community and related initiatives. Throughout the FA20-WI21 academic year, Ashley participated in presentations and webinars to assist both faculty and students as they transitioned to remote teaching and learning. Ashley also helped market the Master level programs through his collaboration in “master-classes”, as well as engaging “Fireside Chat” initiatives. Ashley’s dedication to Schulich is evident through his active roles across the School that transcend teaching and learning.
